Valarie Wilson of GSBA named to Top 30 Education Technology Leaders
Thirty K-12 and higher education leaders recognized by the Center for Digital Education for their efforts to transform learning through the innovative use of technology.
The Center for Digital Education (CDE) today announced its 2017 Top 30 Technologists, Transformers and Trailblazers – 30 education and technology leaders across America who are transforming the education landscape through the use of digital tools.
The 2017 winners were selected based on their efforts to improve education through effective implementation of technology-rich solutions; their impact on student outcomes; and their overall initiative, creativity and leadership skills.
Mrs. Wilson, Executive Director of the Georgia School Boards Association (GSBA) is being honored for her leadership in the organization’s flagship software product, Simbli. Simbli is the first and only comprehensive board management software solution, bringing together meetings, planning, policies, evaluations, documents, and communications into one, easy-to-use board management software solution. Launched in 2007 as a means of helping Georgia schools and districts achieve more effective board governance, Simbli is now used by more than 540 customers across 25 states.
“We are so proud to see Mrs. Wilson recognized for her leadership in helping school boards leverage technology to model excellence in board governance,” said Mark Willis, Chief Operating Officer, eBOARDsolutions. “GSBA, along with our other state school boards association partners around the country, understand that Simbli is more than just a tool for paperless board meetings, but a true change agent for helping manage and align the work of the board to enhance transparency and communications with all stakeholders.”
“Our winners have shown an immense amount of passion and courage as they take on education in an era that encompasses rapid changes. They have demonstrated a unique ability to use technology as a catalyst to transform education at all levels and to have a positive impact on student success,” said Dr. Kecia Ray, executive director, CDE. “I am thrilled to recognize this outstanding group for their work, and wish them the best as they continue to push the field forward with education technology.”
